In January, Sarasin & Partners joined other CA100+ signatories in writing to Norway’s Prime Minister to highlight our support for Equinor to pursue a strategy consistent with a 1.5˚C-pathway. The Norwegian government owns 67% of Equinor’s shares. It is also a signatory to the Paris Climate Agreement and thus committed to pursuing efforts to cap global warming at 1.5˚C.
We believe that Equinor’s Board and senior management should be left in no doubt that shareholders expect bolder action to transition away from harmful fossil fuels.
