Sarasin Income and Reserves Fund
An investment solution designed to provide liquid, flexible and reduced volatility investment solution for charities
The fund acts as an ‘insurance policy’ to complement to our growth-oriented Endowment strategy.
This allows investors to make short-term withdrawals without the risk of being a ‘forced’ seller at an inopportune moment.
We target returns in excess of cash, but with less volatility than is likely from an investment in our Endowments strategy.
Investors have access to a relatively high level of immediate income, with the potential for some capital appreciation. Rather than being a substitute for cash, it is instead a distinct step up in both risk and reward.
The fund aims to target a longer-term total return of inflation +2%.
The fund is managed as a pooled strategy, investing in a bespoke mix of assets with wide diversification.
We exclude companies with exposure to the production of tobacco or tobacco-related manufacturing. The fund also avoids investment in companies that generate significant revenues from alcohol, armaments, gambling and adult entertainment.
Our approach is both quantitative and qualitative, and considers the materiality of each exclusion based on the percentage of revenues derived from ethically sensitive products and services.
