Sarasin & Partners, in association with The Robertson Trust, are pleased to announce our CPD-accredited Charity Investment Training and Global Economic Update on Thursday 28 May at Trades Hall Of Glasgow.
 
Oliver Bates and Mashrufa Miah will deliver the training. The training will help you:
 
  • Understand the fundamental drivers of investment returns
  • Assess the risk and performance characteristics of asset classes
  • Understand the construction of a multi-asset portfolio, future returns and income, and how this can be applied to your charity
  • Enable you to help design and enhance your charity’s Investment Policy Statement

The event will also provide a brief economic and market update, sharing Sarasin & Partners views on how they are navigating the geopolitical turmoil, and key risks within investment markets.

The ‘text book’ for our training is based on the Sarasin Compendium of Investment which is designed to help you plan and implement your investment policy alongside your investment manager.
 
Registration commences at 9:30am for a 10:00am start, and the event will conclude with a buffet lunch.

Oliver joined Sarasin & Partners in September 2008 having previously spent his 20-year fund management career at HSBC (formerly James Capel & Co) where he was Head of Charities. In addition to managing charity portfolios, he sits on the Corporate Responsibility Committee. Oliver is a Trustee for the Hume Castle Preservation Trust, having previously been a trustee of I CAN, a specialist speech and language charity for children with communication difficulties, as well as the Prostate Cancer Research Centre. He is an Associate of the Securities Institute and is on the Board of the Charity Investors’ Group (CIG).

Mashrufa joined Sarasin & Partners in August 2021. Prior to joining Sarasin, Mashrufa worked at J.P. Morgan for four years as a Senior Associate. She graduated in International Relations from King’s College London and holds the CFA’s Level 4 Investment Management Certificate (IMC). Mashrufa is also a trustee and board member for Leaders In Community, a grassroots charity driving youth social action and leadership in inner city London.
