Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in November 2023, Edward was an Investment Manager at Quilter Cheviot, managing portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts and charities and their professional advisers. He also sat on Quilter Cheviot’s Fixed Income Committee determining their model fixed income allocations.

Michael is a Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager, having joined Sarasin & Partners after nine years at Barings.

At Barings he was a managing director and multi-asset portfolio manager, managing a range of across various client types and risk profiles, in addition to chairing the group’s asset allocation committee. Prior to Barings, Jervis held an investment position at LCP, and a research role at the Bank of England.

Tom Wildgoose

Senior Portfolio Manager - Global Equities

Tom is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Global Equities. He joined Sarasin from Nomura Asset Management, where he was Head of Equity Investment.

Over a 16-year career at Nomura as an analyst and a portfolio manager he developed wide knowledge of companies and industries, as well as expertise in managing high-conviction global equity portfolios focused on higher-quality companies. Prior to Nomura he spent time at Deloitte Consulting, Energis and PA Consulting Group.

Tom graduated from Durham University with a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds an MSc in Computing for Industry from Imperial College London. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Charterholder) and has passed all the Charter Management Accountant (CIMA) exams.

Nikki is a portfolio manager for the global equity income strategies and works closely with our existing team of sector-focused analysts.  She is also a research analyst working across the global thematic universe.

Nikki joined Sarasin from Trium Capital where she managed a pan European market neutral long short UCITS fund. She trained as a Chartered Accountant with EY before starting her investment career within HSBC Private Equity and has over 20 years of investment experience working for companies including Scottish Widows, GAM and Bluecrest.

Georgie joined Sarasin in April 2021. She assists with the management of international and UK portfolios for private clients. Georgie joined us from the University of Exeter where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography.

Robert Wilson

Analyst/Portfolio Manager - Alternatives

Robert is the deputy fund manager for the Sarasin IE Sustainable Global Real Estate Equity Fund. He has also been an alternatives analyst at Sarasin since joining in 2021 from Quilter Cheviot where he was responsible for third-party funds research focusing on Alternatives.

Robert started his career as an Energy Analyst at Global Energy and Commodities Exchange. He then worked as an Investment Manager at First Merchant Bank before moving to Landy Partners and Financial Express as an Investment Fund Analyst.

Robert holds an MSc(Hons) in Finance & Financial Law from the University of London - SOAS, a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Finance from the University of York, and has also passed levels 1&2 of the CFA®.

Elizabeth Tracey joined as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Board of Sarasin Investment Managers in October 2019.

Elizabeth has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 37 years, including senior operational roles at large asset managers such as Merrill Lynch Investment Management and BlackRock Fund Managers. Specialising in global operations, Elizabeth’s experience includes oversight of projects in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia.

Elizabeth is also an iNED for Link Fund Solutions and is Chair of their Risk, Compliance and Audit Committee.

Jack joined Sarasin in 2023 as an investment analyst on the Bread Street team. He is responsible for the due diligence on private market opportunities.

Prior to Sarasin, he worked as an investment analyst at Cabot Credit Management, and as an analyst at Boston Consulting Group.

Jack graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc in Economics and has passed CFA Level 3.

Alastair Baker

Portfolio Manager - Multi-Asset

Alastair joined Sarasin & Partners in February 2023 and is a Multi-Asset Fund Manager responsible for managing the Target Return Mandate with Guy Monson, Chief Market Strategist, and Senior Partner. He is also co-fund manager of the Sarasin Global Equity Real Return Fund.

Prior to joining Sarasin, Alastair worked at abrdn where he lead a strategic review of their Multi-Asset and ESG investment capabilities working closely with the executive leadership. He has also worked at Schroders where he was responsible for Diversified Growth Mandates which sought to deliver clients inflation plus returns over a market cycle and Total Return Mandates which sought to deliver cash plus returns over 3 years.

Alastair is a graduate of Bristol University where he holds a First in Economics and Econometrics.

Georgia joined Sarasin & Partners in May 2023. Prior to joining, Georgia worked as a Client Manager at Russell Investments for 11 years predominantly focussing on UK pension funds, insurance companies and Sovereign Wealth Funds in Middle East and Africa. She has experience providing strategic advice on a wide range of asset classes.

Ownership Lead, Business Partner

Julia Shatikova is the Ownership Lead at Sarasin & Partners. She is responsible for engaging with, and voting at, portfolio companies with a focus on driving sustainable change in their environmental, social, and governance performance.

She joined in January 2022 from Northern Trust Asset Management where she was the Head of EMEA Stewardship, with engagement and voting responsibilities for companies in EMEA. Prior to that, Julia was the Senior Sustainable Investing Research Analyst for Northern Trust Asset Management. In that role, she was responsible for ESG thought leadership and product innovation.

Her past positions include Head of sustainability indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices, Head of the Corporate Relations function at MDM Bank in Russia, and Head of Corporate Governance Services at S&P Ratings.

She holds a PhD in Economics from the Institute of Economics, Russian Academy of Sciences, and MSc in Economics of Industry from the Moscow Institute of National Economy. Julia graduated from the INSEAD Executive Education Program; she holds a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) credential from SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) and a Climate Change Financial Risks and Opportunities credential from Imperial College Business School.

Guy Eastman

Guy is a Senior Adviser at Sarasin Bread Street, the specialist private markets business of Sarasin & Partners LLP formed in 2022.  Immediately prior to this Guy was at Bread Street Capital Partners, which he joined having previously held lead investing roles at Aberdeen Standard Investments (now abrdn), SVG Advisers, Hermes UOB and Greenoak Capital Management (the private equity arm of Granville plc, now Robert W Baird & Co).

Guy has over 30 years private equity investing experience and has an extensive and long-established network of manager and investor relationships. At SVG Advisers he was Chief Investment Officer and lead manager of the Schroder Private Equity Fund of Funds and SVG Diamond programmes, portfolios he continued to manage at Aberdeen. Guy has served on the Advisory Boards of leading private equity managers across buyout, growth and venture strategies. He is a Non-Executive Director of Schroder Private Equity Fund of Funds III and IV plc.

Guy has a BA in Business Administration from the Bristol Business School (now part of University of the West of England) and is a Chartered Accountant qualifying with Arthur Andersen in London.

Alexander Henderson

Head of Strategic Partnerships, Sarasin Bread Street

Alex is Head of Strategic Partnerships at Sarasin Bread Street, the specialist private markets business of Sarasin & Partners LLP formed in 2022.  Prior to this, he held senior leadership and distribution roles at Bread Street Capital Partners, Janus Henderson and Henderson Global Investors. He started his investment career with Cazenove & Co.

Alex has over 35 years asset management experience. He was instrumental in developing Henderson’s original Asian asset management business, opening the group’s offices in Singapore, Tokyo, HK and Taipei. He oversaw the fund management activities for Asia equities, private capital and direct property (c$53bn AUM). Most recently, Alex was MD, Global Financial Institutions at Janus Henderson in London, responsible for all business with global wealth management institutions across EMEA.

Alex has an outstanding track record of developing strategic distribution and product partnerships for wealth management, sovereign wealth funds and central banks. He is a Non-Executive GP Director of LimeTree Capital, a HK regulated private markets investment manager.

Alex attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and served in the British Army before starting his investment career.

James is a Partner in Sarasin & Partners LLP and co-heads Sarasin Bread Street, a specialist private markets business formed in 2022.  Prior to this he co-founded Bread Street Capital Partners, held senior investment, product and capital markets roles at Aberdeen Standard Investments (now abrdn), SVG Advisors, Nomura and Merrill Lynch, and started his career at Dresdner Kleinwort in 1985.

James has a long track record of private market investing and has launched and managed investment funds for all types of institutional and professional investors. These include innovative private equity collateralised fund obligations and Aberdeen Private Equity Global FOF plc, an Irish Stock Exchange listed fund. At Aberdeen he was responsible for all European clients’ private markets portfolios, with then over £8bn of assets. He is a Non-Executive Director of Oxford Capital, an award-winning venture capital firm investing into early stage UK companies in the Digital and Artificial Intelligence sectors.

James attended St Catharine’s College, Cambridge University, and graduated with an MA in Natural Sciences. He has an MBA from London Business School.

Alex Barr

Partner, Head of Sarasin Bread Street

Alex is Head of Sarasin Bread Street, Sarasin & Partners’ private markets business, where he is a Partner. He previously co-founded Bread Street Capital Partners and held senior investing roles at Janus Henderson, Aberdeen Standard Investments (now abrdn) and Deutsche Asset Management.

He became Head of Private Equity at Aberdeen in 2009, and subsequently Global Head of Private Markets Investment Oversight. He has managed several investment companies (Aberdeen Private Equity Fund Ltd; Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust plc) and has run portfolios for corporates, local authorities and endowments.

Alex is an Alderman of the City of London, has held various non-executive directorships and chaired multiple governance structures including the City’s Audit & Risk committee.

Holding an MA in Economics and Accountancy from Aberdeen University, Alex has passed Säid Business School’s Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme and is an associate member of the UK CISI.

Ben joined Sarasin & Partners in 2017. He started his career at Friends Provident as graduate trainee and after nearly 4 years moved to Henderson Global Investors where he was for over 14 years managing European (including UK) equities funds, rising to Director and Head of the Mainstream European team. Prior to joining Sarasin, Ben spent 9 years at GIC Private Ltd in a similar capacity.

Ben hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics and Politics from Bristol University, is Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals and a member of the CFA Institute.

Tom is a global equity analyst and member of the Sarasin Food & Agriculture Opportunities Fund team. He joined Sarasin in 2019, initially managing multi-asset investment strategies for charities. He started his career at Investec where he managed private client portfolios and specialist European real estate equity mandates.

Tom is a CFA® charterholder, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (Chartered FCSI), and holds the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD). He graduated from the University of Warwick in 2014 with a degree in History.

Sam Jeffries

Partner, Head of Asset Management

Sam heads the Asset Management team, which manages all aspects of the firm’s investment process and has ultimate responsibility for investment performance. Having spent most of his career managing assets on behalf of private individuals and families, Sam also remains involved in a number of large client relationships, providing strategic input and investment oversight.

Sam joined Sarasin & Partners in 2007 from Baring Asset Management, where he managed international private client portfolios. With 30 years of investment experience, Sam's career in the city started in 1994 at Brewin Dolphin Securities Ltd.

Sam holds a BSc Hons degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Sussex, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment.

John joined Sarasin & Partners in early 2011 after a career in the Army where he saw varied operational service. Much of his experience has been multinational in the climate of military, civilian and interagency cooperation. He managed his Regimental Charities and remains a trustee of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Charity. He has considerable experience in human resources, operational planning, risk management, event planning, instruction and training.

Christopher joined Sarasin & Partners in 2015. Previously Christopher worked at Baring Asset Management and Skandia UK where he undertook various roles including Head of Third Party Distribution and Specialist in Investment Marketing respectively. Sophie’s main focus is managing and developing relationships with potential clients, as well as a range of professional advisers who represent wealthy individuals and families with a requirement for discretionary investment management services. She is also responsible for matching UK and international, including US, clients with the right investment team.  

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in January 2012, Sophie spent 4 years with a Corporate Finance boutique in Mayfair.

Emma is responsible for the coordination of projects across Client Affairs, as well as acting as first line of defence and implementing strategy.

She previously spent three years working at C Hoare & Co as a Portfolio Manager’s Assistant on the Offshore Team, before moving to JM Finn as a Business Analyst.

Artemis is a credit analyst in the fixed income team responsible for Financials.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in September 2017, Artemis spent 3.5 years at the Bank of England where she used to be a credit analyst covering major UK banks (initially at the PRA and subsequently at the Financial Stability Division).

Before the Bank of England, she spent nearly 5 years at Moody’s Investors Service as a credit analyst in the financials institutions team responsible for banks and non-bank financials in Emerging Markets and the UK.

Neil is a portfolio manager for the global equity income strategies. Within the global equity team he co manages Sarasin’s Institutional mandates and retail funds.

Neil joined Sarasin & Partners in December 2017 from Polar Capital where he was Global Income Fund Manager. Previous to this Neil was Global Emerging Market Income & Growth Fund Manager.

Alex Cobbold

Partner, Head of Equity Research

Alex is responsible for screening and researching stock ideas from the Global Energy and Industrials Universe and providing insight into macro events and themes which will influence the sectors.

Alex joined Sarasin & Partners in January 2017. Prior to joining Sarasin, Alex was employed at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) for 16 years as a global industrials and energy equity and commodity analyst and portfolio manager.

Before joining the GIC he was an analyst at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein for five years. He covered the EU building and materials sector. Alex‘s career started in the city after graduating at National Provident Institution (NPI) as a UK fund manager.

Daniel Belfer has been CEO of Bank J. Safra Sarasin Ltd since November 2019 and chairs the Group Executive Board. He is also Chairman of Sarasin & Partners LLP and of bank zweiplus ltd. Prior to that, he had been responsible for the Trading, Treasury and Asset Management Division since 2013. Daniel Belfer has held leadership roles within the J. Safra Group for 20 years. In 2010, he moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where he joined Banque J. Safra (Suisse) SA from Bank J. Safra Sarasin (Bahamas) Ltd, where had been CEO and a member of the Board of Directors since 2008. He became Head of Trading at Safra National Bank of New York in 2004, having held responsibility for Fixed Income Trading and Structured Products since 2000, when he joined Safra National Bank of New York. Daniel Belfer began his professional career in 1997 at BancBoston Robertson Stephens Inc. in Boston, USA; in the Emerging Markets Sales, Trading & Research department.

Born in 1975, Daniel Belfer is a Brazilian citizen and lives in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University and is a CFA® charterholder.

Safra Sarasin (Gibraltar) Ltd which he opened in 2007 when he moved to London. LP, a boutique investment bank in New York, where he focused on M&A and private equity transactions across various industries. Oliver joined Sarasin & Partners in September 2008 having previously spent his 20-year fund management career at HSBC (formerly James Capel & Co) where he was Head of Charities.

In addition to managing charity portfolios, he sits on the Corporate Responsibility Committee. Oliver is a Trustee for the Hume Castle Preservation Trust, having previously been a trustee of I CAN, a specialist speech and language charity for children with communication difficulties, as well as the Prostate Cancer Research Centre.

Jamie is the Head of our Private Client Department with overall responsibility for the management of the team and its development, alongside holding account director responsibilities for a wide range of client mandates. Jamie is also CEO of Sarasin Asset Management, our subsidiary company specialising in US clients.  Jamie joined the City in 1987 and spent several years at NCL Investments prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in 1996.

Edward is responsible for the management of private client portfolios. Edward also co-manages Sarasin & Partners' AIM inheritance tax-sheltered portfolio service. Ruadhri has over 20 years in the fund management industry where he has operated as both a fund manager and a charity trustee. After leaving the Army he started work with Leopold Joseph and Sons where he completed his fund management exams.

Lucinda has been managing private client, private pensions, and charity portfolios for over 35 years. Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in 2004, Lucinda spent 18 years with HSBC Investment Management, formerly James Capel & Co, where she was a senior director on the management team. Lucinda started in the city with Quilter Goodison, having spent two years training as a Land Agent, specialising in Agricultural Investment.

Alex Hunter

Alex has been with Sarasin & Partners since 2007, working primarily with the Global Equity franchise and is global equity portfolio manager for the Equity Opportunities fund. Prior to joining Sarasin in 2007, Alex spent four years at US hedge fund Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder working with global long only and alternative equity strategies, based in both New York and London.

From 1996 to 2003 Alex worked at Morgan Stanley as a sell-side equity analyst covering the capital goods sector and subsequently the aerospace sector. Whilst at Morgan Stanley, Alex qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA, 1999) and from 1999 to 2003 was consistently ranked, with his team, in the top three by surveys such as the Institutional Investor Magazine - being top ranked both in Europe (2002) and globally (2000).

Alex is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from the University of Exeter and has taken courses at the London Business School and Harvard Medical School.

Guy Monson

Senior Partner, Chief Market Strategist/Fund Manager

Guy Monson, Chief Market Strategist and Senior Partner of Sarasin & Partners LLP, has over 35 years of investment experience having joined the company in 1984. In 1988, he became manager of Sarasin’s flagship GlobalSar (now Multi Asset) family of balanced investment funds, winning awards for investment performance and risk profile. He has pioneered the use of thematic investment in the management of global equity portfolios and today leads the firm’s global investment and markets strategy for a wide range of charitable, endowment and private clients.

Guy writes regularly in the international financial press and appears on Bloomberg and other financial channels. He is also a member of the London School of Economics IDEAS Advisory Board and a Foundation Fellow of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University.

Melanie Roberts

Melanie joined Sarasin & Partners in 2011 and was appointed Head of Charities in January 2023. She has over 25 years’ investment experience and is responsible for the management of charity and private client portfolios. Melanie speaks regularly at Sarasin seminars and was the Editor of Sarasin’s quarterly publication, the House Report, for ten years.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners, Melanie spent 16 years at Newton Investment Management. Subitha Subramaniam

Subitha is responsible for long term investment strategy and tactical asset allocation.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners, Subitha worked at UBS in Zurich, Switzerland, as a Senior Economist for Asia in Global Markets Research and then as a Macroeconomist for Asia in Sovereign Research. She has been a project Director at the Center for Institutional Reform and the Informal Sector, Washington DC, USA and also worked as a research assistant at the World Bank’s Middle East Department.

Guy Matthews

Managing Partner

Guy was appointed as Managing Partner in June 2016, having previously been Chief Operating Officer since 2010 and prior to that Chief Financial Officer of the Sarasin (UK) Group from 2002 until 2010. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of our investment fund company, Sarasin Investment Funds Limited, and non-executive director to our offshore fund company, Sarasin Funds Management (Ireland) Limited. He is also Chairman on the Executive Committee and a member of the Product Strategy Group.

He started his career at Smith and Williamson where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.  He spent a year at the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation (IMRO) on secondment and joined Sarasin & Partners in 1994 where he had responsibility for the financial accounts, compliance, corporate strategy and fund administration.

Guy is a Chartered Accountant, and was also formerly the Chairman of the FSA’s Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel and a member of the FSA’s Practitioner Panel.

Richard Maitland

Senior Partner

Richard joined Sarasin & Partners in 1992. He is a Senior Partner and a member of the Executive Committee, focussing on strategic investment, client management and new business initiatives. He was Head of Charities between 2003 and 2023.

Specialising in managing multi-asset portfolios, he was responsible for growing our CAIFs from under £50m to over £3bn. Richard wrote and edited the Compendium of Investment over the past 20 years and has lectured at The Judge (Cambridge), the University of Vienna, and the University of Stellenbosch. Hadley Simons

Partner, Chief Client Officer

Hadley is the COO for Client Affairs and is responsible for general management and overseeing the sales and distribution platform across the private clients, charities, retail and institutional teams.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners, Hadley was the Division COO for Wealth Management at C Hoare & Co. In 2017, he executed the sale of the division to Cazenove Capital. Before this, he worked at Barclays from 2009, where he was the Head of Change for the UK Private Bank, and led a number of transformative programmes. He has also worked at UBS where, amongst other roles, he ran their European securities financing operation.

Hadley graduated with a BA Econ (Hons) from the University of Reading, and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). He currently sits on the Investment Association’s DFM, Private Client and Wealth Management Committee.

Tim Temple

Partner, Chief Operating Officer

Tim joined Sarasin from the Bank of New York (now BNY Mellon) in 2005 as the Valuations Manager. He became Head of Operations in 2009 and then Chief Operating Officer in 2016.

Tim is primarily responsible for ensuring that the operational and IT components of the firm support efficient and effective processes within a strong control environment. Tim entered the Financial Services industry with a position at WM Company in Edinburgh, before moving into a client servicing role at Deutsche Asset Management in London.

Tim holds a BA from Macquarie University, Sydney, and an Executive MBA from the Cass Business School, University of London.

Natasha Landell-Mills

Partner, Head of Stewardship

Natasha is currently a Partner and Head of Stewardship at the asset manager Sarasin & Partners LLP, where she steers the firm’s stewardship work, ensuring effective engagement, voting and public policy outreach in order to promote the creation of sustainable value. Since 2017, she has spearheaded Sarasin’s flagship Climate Active strategy.

Natasha has been a vocal advocate for reform of the accounting and audit system to promote long-term stewardship as well as action by company boards to confront climate change. Natasha is a member of the Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network, as well as the Consultative Advisory Group for the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board. Natasha sits on the Investment Committee for the Cambridge Assistants Contributory Pension Scheme and is a non-executive director at Carbon Tracker, a leading think-tank on investment and climate change.

Natasha has a background in development economics and responsible investment. Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners, she spent six years as the Senior Analyst leading ESG integration and several areas of policy work at the Universities Superannuation Scheme’s Investment Management arm; and four years in Budapest working with OTP Fund Management and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Before moving into finance, Natasha spent a number of years working on sustainable development issues in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Natasha started her career as an Overseas Development Institute Fellow, working as the Chief Economist in the Guyana Forestry Commission.

Natasha has Masters in Economics from Cambridge University, an MSc in Natural Resource Economics from University College London, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Natasha oversees the firm's stewardship activities. Specific areas of work include steering the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters into the investment process, managing voting and engagement, and leading outreach on several policy and market-related matters.

Kwai San Wong

Analyst – Global Equities

Kwai San is responsible for equity research and ESG research in the technology, media and telecoms sector on a global basis.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in March 2016, he spent five years as an analyst in the Governance and Sustainable Investment team at BMO Global Asset Management EMEA, covering ESG integration, proxy voting and company engagements across a number of markets in the UK and Asia. Before coming to the UK, he worked for HSBC and AECOM in Hong Kong in the areas of information technology and management accounting.

Kwai San has an MBA from the University of Durham, an LLB from the University of London International Programme, and a BEng in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Kwai San is responsible for equity research and ESG research in the technology, media and telecoms sector on a global basis.

Ben McEwen

Analyst - Global Equities & Climate

Ben is responsible for leading analysis on climate change opportunities, as well as developing climate derived stress-tests and applying these to portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in 2018, Ben worked for RBC and CIBC as a sell-side Equity Research Analyst covering global natural resources. He has also worked in audit and assurance for PwC in London, and as a commodities economist in Sydney, Australia.

Ben is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, holds a Certificate in Investments (Securities) from CISI, a Certificate in Economics of Competing Energy Technologies from Stanford University and graduated the Global MBA at Imperial College London with Distinction.

Ben is responsible for developing climate derived stress-tests and applying these to portfolio investments.
