In addition, under current regulations, investments held in certain AIM-quoted companies are exempt from inheritance tax, once held for two years.

Edward is responsible for the management of multiple private client, trust and charity portfolios and also heads Sarasin & Partners' AIM inheritance tax-sheltered portfolio service. Edward has over 30 years of investment management experience, starting his career as a graduate trainee at Capel-Cure Myers in 1993, before joining Sarasin in 1996. Edward has a MA Hons degree in Management and International Relations from the University of St Andrews and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments (CISI). He is chair of the British Humane Association, a governor of both Oundle School and the City & Guilds of London Art School and a warden of the Grocers’ Company.

Imogen joined Sarasin & Partners in August 2021. She is a Portfolio Manager and Analyst with responsibilities across both UK and global equities.

Prior to joining Sarasin, she worked at BMO Global Asset Management in product strategy and development. Imogen is a CFA Charterholder and is active in industry initiatives to promote inclusion, including the Diversity Project Pathway Programme.

James joined Sarasin in 2024 and is responsible for the management of the Sarasin AIM portfolio service.

Prior to joining he spent 13 years at Ruffer LLP as an equity analyst, covering stocks in Europe, the US and Japan. From 1999 to 2007 James worked for various investment banks, mainly on equity funds. He initially joined the City as a telecoms analyst.

He qualified as an accountant with KPMG in 1999.
